How it works

openIMIS offers an intuitive, user-friendly interface to manage the complex processes used in health protection schemes. These include beneficiary management, health service claims generation, transmission and review. By applying industry standards, openIMIS provides a seamless exchange of beneficiary, health service provider and scheme operator data.

The openIMIS Initiative is a group of partners who support and expand the global reach of openIMIS.

We are a dedicated community of users, development partners, implementers, software developers and academic institutions. Our shared goal is to improve health financing operations by offering a seamless exchange of data related to patients, health service providers and payers for health care.

We continually develop and implement the openIMIS software through technical expertise, knowledge sharing and financial contributions.

openIMIS contributes to achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC)

More and more countries are working towards UHC by enacting health financing reforms. The digitalisation of health systems is strengthening access, efficiency and quality of health service delivery. openIMIS implementations are helping contribute to these goals.
